Park Division Report
Sorensen reported that Lang Ranch Neighborhood Park site construction is
moving along nicely. One day of work was lost due to what looked like an
archeological find at the site. After consulting with a Native American
expert, it was determined it was just a hollow area. Mid -December looks
like a possible opening date. The contractor, Venco Western, is doing a
superb job.
Rancho Conejo Playfield is in its maintenance period, with five weeks to go.
To date the park has been re -seeded and trenches have been filled in.
Play equipment for the tot area is currently stored in the tennis court area.
Grand opening and dedication of the park is scheduled for Saturday,
November 15, 1997, with a tentative time of 11:00 a.m. A few more
meetings will be held and the Board will be kept appraised of any new
information.
Jacobsen asked the status of the bids for Michael Park. Sorensen stated
he hadn't had a chance to review them.
