September 18 1997 <br />Page 3 <br />that Board members be kept informed, that they evaluate the results of the <br />process, and make decisions. <br />Holt expressed agreement with Ward. <br />In response to the inquiries and concerns of Sharon Noel and Jo Terrusa, <br />Ward, Jacobsen, and Gillette further clarified the community involvement <br />process, the property involved, and staff recommendation, and emphasized <br />that no design decisions have been presented or agreed upon, and <br />approximately ten community meetings will be scheduled to solicit community <br />input. <br />In response to Donna Ward's concerns and request for information, <br />Jacobsen and Ward again clarified the recommendation, the Request For <br />Proposal process, and the community involvement process, and stated that <br />Jacobsen and Lange were appointed to the Waverly Adult School Access <br />Issues Committee. <br />Jacobsen said a written statement card was received pertaining to Waverly <br />Park and the position set forth will be taken under evaluation at the <br />appropriate time. Gillette noted that if the writer chose, the writer could speak <br />under the Public Comments section of the agenda. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to authorize <br />staff to enter into separate contracts with Takata Associates and the <br />RRM Design Group for Master Planning of Conejo Creek and the <br />McCrea Ranch, in amounts not to exceed $53,000 and $30,000 <br />respectively. <br />Gillette requested future consideration be given to the issue of the amount of <br />Board participation during the community hearing process. Holt restated her <br />position, and said that the issue need not be considered in the future, unless <br />a concern arises. Ward said that schedules and relevant information will be <br />provided to the Board, and Board direction is always welcome. <br />In response to Terry Jacobi's inquiry, Jacobsen said that public meetings <br />will be well publicized and scheduled throughout the community. Gillette <br />suggested that all those wishing to be personally notified of meetings should <br />give their names to staff. <br />
