9. <br />CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 26, 9997 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m., and led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />3. <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gillette, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Sorensen, and <br />Washington, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Therapeutic Unit - Water Color Class - Jennifer De Goeas and Marilyn Meriaux <br />Washington introduced De Goeas, who spoke briefly of the Therapeutic Unit's <br />mission, programs and participants, and introduced Meriaux. Meriaux discussed her <br />motivation to teach art to developmentally disabled people, and with the help of her <br />student, Heidi Moodie, demonstrated teaching techniques. <br />The Board complimented the program, teacher, and student. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Nick Quiidwai, acknowledged the Board for its professionalism and the clearness of <br />the budget documents, he noted the informational handouts he provided, asked for <br />an update of the tri -agency survey, and said that the Artwalk was marred by some <br />political activists, and he opposed the Hill Canyon Recreation Resources Authority <br />Joint Powers Agreement because be believes that the electorate should be involved <br />in high expenditure projects. <br />Regarding the tri -agency survey, Ward said that it will be made available to the <br />public as soon as it is received from the consultant.
