May 22, 1997 <br />Page 6 <br />He noted the informational memo on the HICAP program and the recent Los <br />Angeles Times article on Recreation Coordinator Mike McAdams and the <br />hiking program. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that he attended the recent CARPD Legislative Conference in <br />Sacramento, ERAF is a major priority of special districts, and the McCrea <br />Ranch has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange reported on the recent Ventura County Special Districts Association <br />(VCSDA) meeting, VCSDA's planned presence at the Ventura County Fair, <br />and the plan for emergency training by the Ventura County Sheriffs <br />Emergency Preparedness Group. <br />Holt expressed an interest in the October CARPD conference in San Diego. <br />Gillette said he will be the master of ceremonies at the Thousand Oaks <br />Bobby Sox ceremony on June 14, and he urged all to attend. <br />In response to Gillette's inquiry, Sorensen said he would supply information <br />on the Newbury Gateway Park sign, and he said that the Rancho Conejo <br />Playfields project will be completed prior to Labor Day and the details of a <br />dedication ceremony have not been completed. <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT <br />AGENDAS <br />Jacobsen suggested that a schedule for all upcoming ground breaking and <br />dedication ceremonies of District facilities be prepared. <br />13.
