Authorization To Replace Playground Equipment At Oakbrook <br />Neighborhood Park <br />Sorensen reviewed recent events relative to the <br />recommendation. He described the proposed equipment, and <br />said that it would accommodate more play opportunities <br />than is presently provided, and that this would be an <br />opportunity to upgrade the equipment to meet current <br />standards. He explained that staff has met with <br />representatives from the local homeowners association and <br />concerned parents, and the proposed equipment is similar <br />to that at Conejo Creek North Park and North Ranch <br />Playfield. <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Sorensen said that the <br />District's ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) <br />transition plan specifies that base materials be changed <br />only at community park sites. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen said that the <br />new composite equipment provides approximately six or <br />seven play components, it is more expensive because it <br />meets current standards, the equipment at North Ranch is <br />approximately four and half years old and both staff and <br />users are pleased with it, staff is trying to meet the <br />needs of the Oakbrook Park constituents, the park is <br />being used intensively, and the cable slide will not be <br />removed. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried <br />unanimously, 4-0, to authorize the expenditure of $8,600 <br />from the Contingency Fund, to be reimbursed from Park <br />Development Fees, for the replacement of worn out play <br />equipment at Oakbrook Neighborhood Park. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization To Purchase A Xerox Copier <br />Sorensen said that $9,000 was budgeted for a new copier, <br />and he reviewed the current copying needs and issues of <br />the administration office, noting the increased usage <br />from 4,000 to 8,000 copies per month. He said that three <br />copiers were demonstrated, and staff recommends a <br />demonstration model Xerox copier, which was the low bid, <br />
