Authorization To Repair Slides At Oakbrook Neighborhood Park And Thousand Oaks Park Sorensen stated that staff determined a slide at Thousand Oaks Park is in disrepair and cannot be reconditioned, staff recommendation is to replace the slide at a cost of $4,314.97, and funding is to be through the Contingency Fund, which will later be reimbursed by the Park Development Fund. He asked that the recommendation be modified to exclude the Oakbrook Park equipment, which he said will be considered on November 21. In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen said that the new slide will be plastic, and none of the manufacturers, from whom the District has purchased equipment, has ever used lead based paint. Jorgensen said that the amount of the Contingency Fund is approximately $350,000. It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried unanimously, 4-0, to authorize staff to expend $4,314.97 from the Contingency Fund to affect repairs to the slide at Thousand Oaks Park, with the anticipation of recovering the expenditures from the Park Development Fund in June, 1997. 8. NEW ITEMS A. Approval To Meet In Joint Session With Thousand Oaks City Council Relative To The Hill Canyon Regional Recreation Facility Ward referenced the documentation, and stated staff recommendation to adjourn the meeting to November 12 to meet concurrently with the City Council. He referred to correspondence which recommends the establishment of an ad hoc committee comprised of two members of the Board and two members of the City Council to oversee the development and implementation of the project, but he said the four -person ad hoc committee format has yet to be approved by the City Council. Holt expressed her interest in being part of the committee.
