Minutes 7-25-96
Page 4
Continuing, he said that the Michael Park concept plan
and signage were reviewed and approved by the City of
Thousand Oaks Council on July 23; requiring concurrence,
the signage will be presented to the Board August 8 for
review; and although there will be a slight delay in
grant funding, construction drawings will begin July 26.
In response to Gillette's inquiry, Ward clarified that
the agreement between the District and the City
stipulates that the park name be a bilateral decision,
and an on-site sign acknowledging the site as District
property may be appropriate.
B. Recreation Division Report
Washington highlighted recent past successful events,
including the fifth anniversary party of the Goebel
Senior Adult Center on July 15 and the Blues-iana and
Gospel concert July 21. He referenced communication
relative to the teen summer musical, "Sweeney Todd", and
invited the Board's attendance. He said that the final
two summer concerts will be the Country Western Hoedown
on August 18 and the Conejo Pops Orchestra on September
2.
Gillette said that representatives of the County, State,
and District attended the senior center's anniversary
party.
C. Administration Division Report
Jorgensen reported that the District's presence on the
internet will be initiated by fall.
In response to Lange's inquiry, Jorgensen said that the
computer inventory list is being revised because some of
the computers formerly identified as obsolete have been
reactivated in other District work sites, and the
computer inventory list will be complete in August.
D. General Manager's Report
Ward reported that, pursuant to the McCrea Ranch
agreement, the transfer of certain properties will be
executed within the next few weeks.
