CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 18, 1996 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />I. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gillette called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m., and <br />led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gillette, Holt, Jacobsen, and <br />Lange <br />Berger arrived at 7:34 p.m. <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Sorensen <br />and Washington, Senior Parks Planner Gilmore, Recreation <br />Manager Lindsey, Recreation Supervisor Engel, and Executive <br />Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Clay Hulett, representing Conejo Valley Days Activities <br />Committee and the Conejo Valley Days Committee, thanked the <br />District for its support, distributed event mementos, and <br />offered help with future Eggstravaganza events. <br />Board members wished Hulett and his organization success. <br />Thousand Oaks Community Center Karate Program - Alex Schein <br />And Scott Engel <br />Engel presented an overview of Thousand Oaks Center <br />programing, past and present, including karate classes. He <br />praised staff and management for their support and introduced <br />Schein. Schein and his students presented a demonstration of <br />their skills. <br />The Board thanked Schein and his students for the <br />demonstration and Schein for his efforts with community youth. <br />
