The Park Superintendent position will again be <br />advertised in June. <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Sorensen said that <br />interns are solicited through local universities, and <br />Washington said that interns have been used in the <br />Recreation Division in the past and an intern will begin <br />an internship next month. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington said that Spring registration has concluded, <br />the Spring break featured several special activities and <br />events which were well attended, and the Eggstravaganza <br />hosted between 10,000 and 15,000 participants and was the <br />largest egg festivity to date. <br />Concluding, Washington said that the Senior Expo is <br />scheduled for May 8 at California Lutheran University and <br />"Sparky" Anderson will be one of the speakers. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Washington said that the <br />noise level, traffic, and hunt location of the <br />Eggstravaganza will be evaluated for next year's event. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen noted the third quarter liability report. He <br />said that on April 18 a representative from ICMA is <br />scheduled to talk about the deferred compensation plan <br />and he invited interested Board members. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward said that he attended a CARPD Legislative Committee <br />meeting on April 3, and he presented a brief overview of <br />relevant pending legislation. He noted the documentation <br />pertinent to the initiative on parks and open space <br />preservation, and he said that he will attend a meeting <br />
