ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
None
4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC
Exercising the Chair's prerogative, Gillette returned to Items
From The Public.
Ekbal Quidwai said that members of the Keep Parks Public group
unanimously agree that the Conejo Valley Unified School
District's portion of the Conejo Creek property should be
under the jurisdiction and control of the Conejo Recreation
and Park District, and he urged that the Park District
negotiate with the School District and the City of Thousand
Oaks to that end. Further, he said that amenities, including
adequate parking space, are lacking at some of the sports'
fields.
Ward said that: the City, School District, and Park District
have shared the cost of a pollster to determine the
community's priorities; the three agencies' priority lists are
currently being synthesized; the District's priorities are
focused on playfields' and sports' facilities, which include
the goals of full build out, site amenities, and maintenance
capability for all facilities; the School District has
indicated that, at this time, they want to maintain ownership
of their portion of the Conejo Creek property; and, at this
time, there are no plans or funding for property acquisition
or improvement at the Conejo Creek site. He invited Quidwai
to contact him for further information.
Quidwai thanked the Board for its good work on behalf of the
community.
10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
A.
