CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 7, 1996 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gillette called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. and <br />led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gillette, Holt, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward; Administrators Jorgensen, <br />Sorensen, and Washington; and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />NOTE: Sufficient time to be set aside for anticipated public <br />comment on Conejo Creek Park. <br />Gillette identified and explained the purpose of speaker and <br />statement cards. He said that the meeting was an opportunity <br />for citizens to come before a public agency and make a <br />statement on an issue of community concern, it was not a <br />public hearing or debate, and speakers would be called in the <br />order of cards received. <br />eDVAWPDQ <br />Ray Gangloff spoke in opposition to the Sport X project being <br />located at Conejo Creek. He cited risk to the natural beauty <br />of the area and to surrounding property values. He said he <br />is seeking to unite equestrian oriented volunteers to oppose <br />the project through a rally at Waverly on March 24, 1996. <br />Wendy Variot thanked the District for the new no alcohol <br />signage at the Glenwood Park. She said that restroom <br />maintenance, facilities, and hours open to the public are <br />inadequate throughout the District, including Conejo Creek <br />North. Gillette asked that she speak to Sorensen. <br />
