The dedication for the <br />Newbury Gateway Park will be either November 7 or 14. <br />Berger inquired about the legislation regarding limiting liability at skateboard <br />parks. Washington stated that in September 1997, legislation was passed <br />regarding helmets, knee pads and elbow pads. He went on to say that <br />many skateboard parks use signage stating the risks involved with the sport <br />versus staffing the sites. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen stated that MRCA's long distance computer capacity would be <br />increased from one to three connections and would be finalized on Friday, <br />September 4, 1998. The printing problem should be finalized within two <br />months. <br />Due to the fact that our storage space is almost full, about 1 % weeks ago <br />an outside contractor was hired to begin scanning records onto CD ROM. <br />Newer technology enables the CDs life expectancy to last from 25 to 50 <br />years. Directors' Reports <br />Lange stated that he attended a ceremony that was held at the Botanical <br />Gardens on Sunday, August 30, 1998. The ceremony consisted of tree <br />planting in recognition of the world champions, Conejo Valley Little League <br />team. While there, Botanical Garden staff shared their long-range plans <br />with Lange, which he stated would be forthcoming in writing soon. <br />Gillette inquired who the lead agency was on the Newbury Gateway Park <br />dedication. Sorensen stated that unofficially, the District has been acting as <br />the lead agency. The District owns the property and the City administered <br />the construction contract. <br />
