July 23, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />B. Approval Of Memorandum Of Understanding Between District And <br />Conejo Valley Little League, Inc. For Fiore Playfiel d Restroom/ <br />Concession Building Development <br />Sorensen stated that on August 21, 1997 the Board conceptually approved <br />the Conejo Valley Little League proposal for the development of a restroom <br />facility with snack shack at Fiore Playfields, a development permit <br />modification has been approved by the City, a building permit has been <br />acquired, construction plans are now complete, Little League has <br />committed to fund the capital cost of the development, sewer connection, <br />ADA mandated modifications, and ongoing M & O costs. He said that the <br />District will continue to fund the electrical and water costs. Concluding, he <br />said that Joe Gibson and Greg White of Little League were present to <br />answer questions. <br />In response to Gillette's inquiry, Gibson said that the sewer connection fee <br />was discounted to $9,300. In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen <br />explained that the sewer fee policy is consistent and states that fees are to <br />be based on the number of months of expected use, site usage will not be <br />impacted by power lines, he expects that Little League will approach the <br />District with a request for additional use of the site beyond the regular <br />season, the police have reviewed the design, made modifications, and are <br />satisfied with the final plan, a discount for monthly sewer fees is not <br />expected, and the restrooms will only be open during field use. <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to approve <br />the submitted MOU between the District and Conejo Valley Little <br />League, Inc., with respect to the improvements approved at the <br />August 21, 1997 Board of Directors meeting. <br />Lange said he was pleased with the cooperative venture between the <br />District and Little League that facilitates services to the youth of the <br />community, and he thanked the organization for its efforts. <br />A.
