April 2, 1998 <br />Page 8 <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington highlighted the spring break activities, including special camps <br />and the Eggstravaganza on April 4. He said that over 80 skaters <br />participated in the skateboard exhibition on March 21. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward referenced the Hill Canyon handout, including the schedule of <br />environmental work planned for the summer. He said it is hoped that the <br />Memorial Tree dedication at Conejo Creek North will be conducted on <br />Memorial Day, and a workshop for the Santa Monica Mountains National <br />Recreation Area General Management Plan is scheduled for April 9. <br />In response to Gillette's inquiry, Ward said that staff has not had the <br />opportunity to respond to the Chaparral Middle School correspondence, but <br />the Board will be kept informed. <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Ward said that staff intends to follow up on <br />the District's financial investment in the 401 Hillcrest building. <br />Lange requested that a letter be sent to Rancho Simi Open Space <br />Conservation Agency, relative to their invitation to attend the opening of <br />Corriganville Park. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Gillette announced that he has been invited to a meeting with Mayor <br />Markey on April 14 to discuss possible funding mechanisms to address <br />unmet park resource development. <br />12.
