CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 19, 1998 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m., and Washington led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gillette, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Berger <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Sorensen, and <br />Washington, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Presentation Of 1997 California Park And Recreation Society District VIII <br />Community Service Award To Mike Waters <br />Brenda Coleman introduced Mike Waters, principal of Colina Intermediate School, <br />reviewed his professional and community accomplishments, praised his impact on <br />program development and promotion at the Teen Center, expressed her <br />appreciation of his efforts, and presented him with the service award. <br />Waters thanked District staff, particularly the Teen Center staff for their service and <br />support. <br />Board members congratulated and thanked Waters for his efforts with community <br />youth. <br />Kids' Swap Meet - Lori Olbrich <br />Olbrich highlighted some of the programs conducted at Thousand Oaks <br />Community Center. Additionally, she reviewed and presented a slide show of the <br />Kids` Swap Meet. She noted the growth and popularity of the program and the <br />involvement of entire families in the event. <br />Lange thanked and commended Olbrich and staff for their efforts. <br />
