Approval To Reject Bid For Rehabilitation Of McCrea Estate Home And <br />Re -Bid Project Using Modified Specifications <br />Sorensen reviewed the bid process, referenced the documentation, and <br />provided background information. He stated that only one bid from Evans <br />Construction in the amount of $278,000 was received; the projected budget <br />is $180,148; subsequent value engineering on the project brought the bid <br />down to $249,000; it is staff recommendation that the bid be rejected; and it is <br />staff expectation to return to the Board by mid-November with the second set <br />of bids. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen cited examples of modifications to <br />be incorporated in bid documents. He stated that a qualified contractor <br />would have appropriate certification and license, plus experience with <br />historical structures; federal grant funds total $87,000; the remainder of the <br />
