Authorization To Award Bid To West Oaks Chrysler Dodge For Utility <br />Bed Truck And 4X4 Truck In Amount Of $47,211 <br />Sorensen stated that in the 2000-2001 budget, $53,000 is budgeted for the <br />replacement of two District vehicles; West Oaks Chrysler, a local dealer, <br />submitted low bids for both vehicles, and he stated staff recommendation. <br />In response to Lange's inquiries, Sorensen explained that warranties, <br />delivery time, and performance are similar for all comparable vehicles, the <br />staff fleet manager is comfortable with all major truck manufacturers and <br />recommends going with the lowest responsible bidder, and this is an <br />opportunity to upgrade the District fleet. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that the fleet is evaluated <br />each year, vehicle mileage varies between 140,000 and 240,000 miles, the <br />vehicles to be replaced will be sold at auction and the money will go into the <br />General Fund, and one more vehicle will be purchased later in the year. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to award the <br />bid for a utility bed truck and a 4X4 truck to West Oaks Chrysler Dodge <br />in the amount of $47,211, with funds coming from account 340,4819 in <br />the amount of $23,431, and from account 350-4819 in the amount of <br />$23,780. <br />9.
