Authorization To Award Bid To West Oaks Chrysler Dodge For Utility Bed Truck And 4X4 Truck In Amount Of $47,211 Sorensen stated that in the 2000-2001 budget, $53,000 is budgeted for the replacement of two District vehicles; West Oaks Chrysler, a local dealer, submitted low bids for both vehicles, and he stated staff recommendation. In response to Lange's inquiries, Sorensen explained that warranties, delivery time, and performance are similar for all comparable vehicles, the staff fleet manager is comfortable with all major truck manufacturers and recommends going with the lowest responsible bidder, and this is an opportunity to upgrade the District fleet. In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that the fleet is evaluated each year, vehicle mileage varies between 140,000 and 240,000 miles, the vehicles to be replaced will be sold at auction and the money will go into the General Fund, and one more vehicle will be purchased later in the year.
