Proposed August Meeting <br />Ward indicated that the issue of an August hiatus has been raised and <br />should, therefore, be discussed. Personal schedules and preferences were <br />discussed. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-0 to cancel <br />the August 3 meeting and retain the August 17 meeting. <br />B. Authorization To Negotiate Contract With City Of Westlake Village For <br />Year -Round Recreation Programs <br />Benton referenced the request by the City of Westlake Village for a District <br />proposal to offer year-round recreation activities for its citizens. She said that <br />site locations would be Bennett Park and the City Hall Community Room, and <br />the fees would be established to cover costs, plus an additional 20 percent to <br />recover all direct and indirect costs. <br />In response to Jacobsen's concern, Benton said that all indirect costs and <br />overhead will be covered, and further clarification of terms and agreements <br />will be provided after negotiations. <br />Lange stated his support for the program, and said that the request reflects <br />well on past programs presented for the City of Westlake Village. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0 to authorize <br />recreation staff to negotiate a contract with the City of Westlake Village <br />to provide year-round programs beginning Fall 2000. <br />C. Approval To Prepare Community Use Plan Of Available Area At 401 <br />Hillcrest Drive And Historic Janss House <br />Berger highlighted information germane to 401 Hillcrest and the Arts Council <br />Center (Janss House), reviewed the recommendation, and stated his <br />support. <br />
