May 18, 2000 Page 2 7. DEFERRED MATTERS A. Public Hearing — Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Budget Berger declared the Public Hearing open. 1. Status Report —1999-2000 Capital Improvement Projects Sorensen referenced the documentation, and said that the report reflects projects approved by the Board last year and carryover projects to be brought before the Board in the 2000-2001 Budget. He reviewed the status of current, major Capital Improvement Projects, including Rancho Conejo Playfield, Conejo Creek Park Northwest Quadrant, Kimber Neighborhood Park, Dos Vientos Community Park, Borchard parking lot and skateboard park, and Stagecoach Inn and Park. Sorensen said that the Rancho Conejo Playfield restroom structure is expected to be available to the public shortly; the Camino Real Bell project at the Stagecoach Inn and Park is completed; and construction drawings are 95 percent complete for Kimber Park, and the dog park and community garden at Conejo Creek Park Northwest Quadrant. In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen explained that relative to the McCrea Ranch estate home, seismic retro -fitting, not roof replacement, is subject to grant funding, and although funds have been approved, they have not yet been received. He said that continued delays associated with Borchard Road have delayed construction of the Dos Vientos Community Park until January, and it is expected that the full service park and community center will open in July 2001. He summarized that a number of Conejo Creek Southeast projects will be brought before the Board on June 22; the bid process will begin May 19 for the dog park; subsequent to the bid process for Kimber Park, staff will be better able to determine the fiscal implications; the redesign of the Borchard parking lot has increased parking capacity by 10 to 15 percent; and manure dumping is no longer a problem at the dog park and there are two bio -filtration units planned for the site. He reviewed the proposed Avenue de los Arboles street improvements.
