CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 8, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1 . CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Amy Tobin led the <br />flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Lange, Holt. Jacobsen arrived at 7:37 p.m. <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Sorensen, Jorgensen and <br />Benton, and Administrative Secretary Tobin <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Teen Center Presentation - Brenda Coleman <br />Benton presented Brenda Coleman, who introduced the Advisory Committee <br />and staff. Coleman highlighted the outstanding events during the past ten <br />years of operation, the many improvements at the center, the increase in a <br />variety of new programs, attendance records being set; and the many goals <br />and challenges of the future. The presentation ended with a video of the <br />Middle School 10th Anniversary which was celebrated in January. District <br />Manager, Robert Blacketor, of the Automobile Club of Southern California, and <br />Roger Garretson, community volunteer, were recognized and presented with <br />awards. <br />The Board thanked Coleman, staff, and the volunteers for their efforts and <br />donations in service to the community. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Don Jacobs, Conejo Valley Community Garden Club, expressed hope that when <br />the Dog Park project is rebid, plans for the community garden will be expedited. <br />
