May 4, 2000 <br />Page 4 <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to adopt <br />Resolution Number 050400-D, a resolution initiating proceedings for <br />the annual levy of assessments for fiscal year 2000-2001 and ordering <br />the preparation of an Assessment Engineer's Report for Landscape <br />Maintenance District No. 92-1 (Rancho Conejo Playfield); that it be <br />read in title only and all further readings be waived. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to adopt <br />Resolution Number 050400-E, a resolution approving the Assessment <br />Engineer's Report for proceedings for the annual levy of assessments <br />within Landscape Maintenance District No. 92-1 (Rancho Conejo <br />Playfield); that it be read in title only and all further readings be <br />waived. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to adopt <br />Resolution Number 050400-F, a resolution declaring its intention to <br />provide for an annual levy and collection of assessments in <br />Landscape Maintenance District No. 92-1 (Rancho Conejo Playfield) <br />and setting a time and place for Public Hearing thereon; that it be read <br />in title only and all further readings be waived. <br />C. To Award Contract To Rec West Outdoor Products, Inc. In The Amount <br />Of $42,172.73 For Purchase Of Play Equipment For Oakbrook <br />Neighborhood Park <br />Sorensen reviewed the need for a play equipment upgrade in Oakbrook <br />Neighborhood Park, and the proprietary bid process. He said that one bid <br />was received from Rec West Outdoor Products, Inc., a local distributor of <br />Landscape Structure play equipment, in the amount of $42,172.73, the <br />local sales representative participated in a series of neighborhood meetings <br />to help select equipment and design the project, and the bid is within <br />budget. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that some existing play <br />equipment will remain, the new equipment is modular, and staff's approach <br />has been to bring together professional standards, methods, and design <br />with the community's high level of interest and participation. <br />
