CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 6, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m., and Jacobsen led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Benton, Jorgensen, and <br />Sorensen, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Jennie Jakstis commended staff members for their professionalism at the March <br />28 Community Workshop for Oakbrook Neighborhood Park/Playfields. She asked <br />that the classification of the site be reconsidered, and that she be considered for <br />membership on the proposed focus group. <br />Sorensen said that the Community Workshop for Oakbrook Neighborhood <br />Park/Playfields was well attended and ideas vigorously presented. He said that <br />subsequent to the meeting, Little League withdrew its request for fields at that site, <br />and staff plans to present a proposal for Board consideration for placement of <br />athletic fields at the Lang Ranch Community Park site. Additionally, he said that <br />to facilitate community involvement and the development of the Oakbrook <br />Neighborhood Park site, staff is proposing the creation of a focus group and use of <br />a format similar to that employed for Conejo Creek Park. <br />
