March 9, 2000 <br />Page 5 <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Lindsey thanked all for their support of the Teen Center anniversary <br />celebration, and reported on upcoming events including the Therapeutic <br />Youth Commission Dance on March 11, the Spring Arts and Crafts Festival <br />at Borchard Community Center on March 11 and 12, and the Volunteer <br />Recognition Dinner on March 12. <br />Holt commended staff for an outstanding anniversary celebration at the <br />Teen Center, and Lange said he was pleased with the show of community- <br />wide support. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Jorgensen said that staff is continuing <br />efforts to schedule a meeting with the District's website designer. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that two meetings have been scheduled with City staff, <br />relative to the disposition of the 401 E. Hillcrest building and the proposed <br />Newbury Park Teen Center, and staff compiled an analysis of various <br />infrastructure repair and replacement projects for possible state and federal <br />funding opportunities. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Lindsey said that the District will be <br />represented at the Youth Congress sponsored by the Conejo Future <br />Foundation at the Reagan Library. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Ward said that staff will follow up on <br />possible funding opportunities resulting from the passage of Proposition 12, <br />and he noted that some Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy projects <br />have already been identified for possible grants. <br />Lange highlighted the recent River Center dedication attended by both he <br />and Berger, and urged all to visit the recently renovated facility. <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT <br />AGENDAS <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Jorgensen said that the budget schedule will be <br />presented to the Board the second meeting in April, and budget preparation has <br />already begun. <br />
