February 24, 2000 <br />Page 2 <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. and reconvened at 8:20 p.m. <br />Playground Inspection And Safety - Pete Peterson And Joe Tornero <br />Peterson explained that both Tornero and he are certified playground safety <br />inspectors. Tomero discussed and demonstrated procedures for evaluating and <br />testing the safety of playground equipment. Peterson presented a playground <br />safety slide presentation and discussed guidelines, common injuries, hazards, <br />surfacing, and types of play equipment. They answered questions regarding <br />District facilities and safety issues. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of February 10, 2000 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - D, Total $259,812.80 <br />It was moved by Jacobsen, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0, to <br />approve the Consent Calendar as presented. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />None <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization Of Permit And Memorandum Of Understanding For <br />Newbury Park Rotary Club's Oktoberfest At Conejo Creek North <br />Lindsey referenced the documentation, and stated that the event has been <br />held successfully at this location in the past with no major incidents, there is <br />no substantive change in the Memorandum of Understanding from past <br />years, and she noted the presence of Jim Losey, representing Newbury <br />Park Rotary Club. <br />
