Approval To Add Districtwide Rehabilitation Of Swings As Priority "A"
Project To 1999-2000 Capital Improvement Projects Budget In Amount Of
$25,000
Sorensen stated that the District's two certified playground inspectors recently
completed a Districtwide evaluation of play area swings with respect to 1999
federal and state standards. He noted that there are immediate, short- and
long-term needs, and recommended that Districtwide rehabilitation of swings
be identified as a priority "A" project in the 1999-2000 Capital Improvement
Projects Budget.
In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen identified three areas of concern:
the distance from swings to boundaries, the need to ensure consistency within
a swing bay, the use zones around swings.
It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve
the addition of Districtwide rehabilitation of swings as a priority "A"
project to the 1999-2000 Capital Improvement Projects Budget, in the
amount of $25,000; funding to come from available PDF and developer
fees.
