Approval To Reclassify Existing Grounds Crew Leader To Senior <br />Grounds Crew Leader Position, With Five Percent Salary Increase <br />Sorensen reviewed staffs recommendation for the reclassification of one of <br />the five Crew Leader positions to a Senior Crew Leader position, and he <br />identified the responsibilities of the proposed position. He said that there <br />are currently five crew leaders, all will be asked to compete for the position, <br />and the successful candidate need not possess an irrigation auditor <br />certificate, but must obtain one in six months. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that only one park employee <br />is currently certified as an irrigation auditor, and if the successful candidate <br />is uncertified, the District will offer tuition reimbursement. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to <br />approve the reclassification of an existing Grounds Crew Leader <br />position to a Senior Grounds Crew Leader, with a five percent salary <br />increase. <br />B. Approval To Execute Easement Agreement With GTE At Dos Vientos <br />Playfield <br />Sorensen reviewed the GTE request for acquisition of an easement on park <br />site B at Dos Vientos for the purpose of locating a concrete utility building <br />to facilitate GTE service in Dos Vientos. He said that the building would be <br />stuccoed and landscaped to match surrounding architecture and located in <br />a sequestered part of the site. He explained that staff has proposed to GTE <br />that the fee be offered as a donation with the specific purpose of <br />augmenting the construction of a snack bar for Newbury Park Girls Softball, <br />and, if not that, he said the money would become part of unrestricted <br />revenues. He said that two representatives from GTE were present to <br />answer questions. <br />
