September 2, 1999 <br />Page 2 <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Nick Quidwai expressed appreciation for Lindsey's efforts on behalf of CSAPA <br />(Conejo Substance Abuse Prevention Authority) and Celebrate the Family, A <br />Parenting Faire. He also acknowledged Gibson's efforts on behalf of a proposed <br />teen center in Newbury Park, and he urged that developer funds be used for a <br />teen center. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve <br />the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of August 5, 1999 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - D, Total $622,207.39 <br />It was moved by Jacobsen, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to <br />approve the Consent Calendar as presented. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />None <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Adoption Of Policy For Board Member Payments <br />Jorgensen referenced the documentation and invited questions. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Jorgensen explained District year-end <br />bookkeeping methods and vendor and employee payments. He clarified <br />that fees earned in June would be paid in July. Gibson questioned if the <br />proposed policy should be expanded to include all invoices, district -wide. <br />Holt, Berger, and Lange expressed support of the recommendation as <br />presented. <br />Nick Quidwai stated his support for the policy. <br />
