CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 11, 1999 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m., and Lange led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen and Sorensen, <br />Recreation Manager Wiley, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Irrigation System Audit Program - Craig Welling <br />Sorensen introduced Grounds Crew Leader and State Certified Water Auditor <br />Welling, who presented an overview of the program, highlighted aspects of the <br />system, including water budgeting, evaluation, field testing, data collection, and <br />typical problems and solutions, and displayed and explained diagrams of several <br />District water systems. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Welling and Sorensen explained that during rainy <br />weather the system is turned off, reclaimed water is not currently being used in the <br />system, the system is being upgraded with improved technology sprinkler heads, <br />and in spite of a significant increase in acreage in recent years, the District <br />expenditure for water has not increased. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Adrienne Ankerstrom requested that the Conejo Creek Master Plan be amended <br />to locate the bark and park and community garden facilities in the same area, thus <br />lessening access roads and impact on the park site. <br />Barbara Kloster, focus group member, also requested that the Conejo Creek <br />Master Plan be amended to temporarily locate the community garden adjacent to <br />the parking lot. <br />
