Warrants, Exhibits A - B, Total $264,082.42 <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 3-0, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar as presented. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />E. Public Hearing — In Accordance With Adopted Assessment Ballot <br />Proceedings Procedures Regarding The Proposed Formation Of Park <br />Maintenance And Recreation Improvement District For the Conejo <br />Recreation And Park District <br />Ward stated that ballots were mailed March 1, 2001, and this was the time <br />for the advertised public hearing. The Board will accept testimony on this <br />issue, and the ballot box will be open if anyone wishes to deposit a ballot. <br />At the conclusion of the testimony portion of the public hearing, the ballots <br />will be tabulated and results will be known at the May 10 Board meeting. <br />Jacobsen opened the public hearing_ <br />Richard Messina, President of La Cuesta Conejo Homeowners <br />Association, agreed with Mr. Starita's comments. He also stated there were <br />no trees near the playground at the park near Michael Drive, and children <br />should be protected from the sun. <br />Wes MacDonald of Thousand Oaks spoke in opposition to the district <br />assessment. He felt the District knew of the State monies, and <br />recommended the Board should become a City of Thousand Oaks <br />committee and meetings could be recorded and televised. <br />Bill Buratto of Thousand Oaks, spoke on behalf of the volunteers of all <br />ages who spent many hours in support of parks and open space. He <br />thanked the General Manager and staff. <br />
