CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 24, 2002 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Berger led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Scott, and <br />Sorensen, Recreation Services Manager Wiley, Park Superintendent Marchesano, <br />Recreation Supervisor Schrock, Personnel Supervisor Bluhm, and Executive <br />Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Employee Recognition Awards <br />Senior staff members commended District employees, and said they were pleased <br />to recognize the honorees. An overview of each employee's professional and <br />academic achievements was presented. On behalf of the Board and District, Ward <br />presented awards to the CRPD employees. <br />Steve Wiley received an award for 25 years, Arlene Kranz for 20 years, Marcia <br />Rutledge, Kevin Smith, and Joe Tornero for 15 years; and Robert <br />Marchesano for five years. <br />The meeting was recessed at 8:05 p.m. and reconvened at 8:16 p.m. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Sharon Garcia, Thousand Oaks, representing AYSO, expressed appreciation to the <br />District for its efforts relative to Conejo Creek South. <br />
