Recreation Division Report <br />Scott noted the previously request 2002 Concert Survey Recap. <br />She reported that the Hillcrest Center Grand Opening weekend of events was <br />very successful, and hundreds of people attended. <br />She said that the Sports section will conduct a punt, pass, and kick contest this <br />Saturday at Redwood Middle School for children 8 to 15 years of age, and the <br />winners will advance to sectional and team championships. <br />Concluding, Scott said that the Teen Center will host a Back to School -Middle <br />School Dance on September 28 and a High School Battle of Bands October 5. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that he and Lange, along with representatives of the City of <br />Thousand Oaks and Conejo Valley Unified School District, attended the first <br />meeting of the ad hoc Wireless Communication Facilities Committee meeting on <br />September 23, and good coordination is expected. <br />He discussed provisions of the Hillcrest Center lease agreement with the City of <br />Thousand Oaks. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange commended staff on the Hillcrest Center Grand Opening events, and said <br />that he looks forward to hosting Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy meetings <br />at the facility. <br />Gibson said he attended the CSDA (California Special Districts Association) <br />Conference in San Diego, the conference and materials were excellent, and he <br />asked that they be reproduced and distributed. <br />
