Berger commented on the Preliminary Budget Performance Report June 2002. Jorgensen explained some of the areas listed and the expenditures yet to be paid. 11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS A. Park Division Report Sorensen reported that staff from CRPD and the City of Thousand Oaks (CTO) are providing to the General Manager and City Manager information about the Thousand Oaks Racquet Club regarding the feasibility of it becoming either a private or public enterprise. Jacobsen asked about when Dos Vientos Community Park will open to which Sorensen indicated that there is no firm date yet. Berger mentioned concern about conditions at the Skateboard Park. When driving by, he has notice the gate open with no one enforcing the pad and helmet rales. He is concerned about liability. Scott said staff is in the process of reevaluating the situation by contacting security services. Recreation is also looking into getting skateboard specialists to give lessons and having birthday parties in the skate park. Berger expressed concern that money is budgeted for another skate park. Sorensen indicated that plans are at least another year off. B. Recreation Division Report Scott reported that there will be a Concert in the Park on Sunday, August 11 featuring Gregg Rolie of Santana; there will be a "End of Summer' dance at the Teen Center on August 10; and the Neighborhoods for Learning (NfL) kickoff is scheduled for August 18 from 1:00 — 4:00 p.m. at Crowley House. Lange pointed out that there is a concert at Gardens of the World on Sunday. Holt indicated they are being held every Sunday now. Lange asked if they are coordinating with CRPD. Holt saw Jekyll and Hyde and thought the performance was fantastic; audience gave it a standing ovation. C. Administration Division Report No report.
