REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Holt thanked the staff for putting together the Summary of District Agreements and non- <br />profit organizations with whom the District works. <br />Berger commented on the Preliminary Budget Performance Report June 2002. <br />Jorgensen explained some of the areas listed and the expenditures yet to be paid. <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that staff from CRPD and the City of Thousand Oaks (CTO) <br />are providing to the General Manager and City Manager information about the <br />Thousand Oaks Racquet Club regarding the feasibility of it becoming either a <br />private or public enterprise. <br />Jacobsen asked about when Dos Vientos Community Park will open to which <br />Sorensen indicated that there is no firm date yet. <br />Berger mentioned concern about conditions at the Skateboard Park. When <br />driving by, he has notice the gate open with no one enforcing the pad and helmet <br />rales. He is concerned about liability. Scott said staff is in the process of <br />reevaluating the situation by contacting security services. Recreation is also <br />looking into getting skateboard specialists to give lessons and having birthday <br />parties in the skate park. <br />Berger expressed concern that money is budgeted for another skate park. <br />Sorensen indicated that plans are at least another year off. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Scott reported that there will be a Concert in the Park on Sunday, August 11 <br />featuring Gregg Rolie of Santana; there will be a "End of Summer' dance at the <br />Teen Center on August 10; and the Neighborhoods for Learning (NfL) kickoff is <br />scheduled for August 18 from 1:00 — 4:00 p.m. at Crowley House. <br />Lange pointed out that there is a concert at Gardens of the World on Sunday. <br />Holt indicated they are being held every Sunday now. Lange asked if they are <br />coordinating with CRPD. <br />Holt saw Jekyll and Hyde and thought the performance was fantastic; audience <br />gave it a standing ovation. <br />C.
