Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that, as a result of concerns expressed at the last Board <br />meeting relative to proposed lighting at Conejo Creek South, a June 11 field <br />trip to the Dos Vientos Community Park site has been arranged for Dean <br />Caccavo and other interested individuals to view the lighting glare reduction <br />program, Board members are welcome to tour the site, and subsequent <br />meetings have been held with AYSO, the lighting engineers and landscape <br />architect. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said he would not recommend <br />selling the current stage due to needed costly repairs. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry relative to the Dos Vientos Community <br />Park site, Sorensen said that it is staff intent to work with Operating <br />Engineers to craft an agreement, whereby the community center can be <br />opened to the public prior to completion of the entire facility. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Scott reported that over 3,000 shoppers attended the May 18 Community <br />Garage Sale at Thousand Oaks Community Center, approximately 3,000 <br />people attended the Memorial Day Concert, and over 1,400 a graders <br />participated in the D.A.R.E. graduation at the Teen Center. <br />in response to Berger's inquiry, Scott said that the July 4 fireworks party at <br />Cameron House is being planned. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry relative to the fireworks, Ward said that fire <br />hazard mitigation measures, other than a controlled bum, are being <br />considered. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen reported that two negotiation sessions with SEW have been held, <br />health insurance coverage has been the main issue, it is hoped that <br />agreement will be reached at the next session scheduled for June 7, and the <br />membership can then vote on the package. <br />
