February 21, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />Manager Blauvelt praised the sportsmanship of the players and parents, and <br />thanked the community for its support and the District for the honor. <br />On behalf of the Board, Holt and Jacobsen presented awards to the team members, <br />coaching staff, and manager. Board members congratulated the team and <br />expressed appreciation to the players, coaching staff, manager, and parents for <br />representing the community so positively. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Richard Messina, Thousand Oaks, urged that trees be planted near the play area <br />at Newbury Gateway Park. <br />Ralph Starita, Thousand Oaks, asked how Assessment District funds have been <br />spent during the past year. <br />Jacobsen suggested he contact staff, and said that staff would be pleased to provide <br />the requested information. <br />Cathy Koch urged that meetings be televised on local television, and said that the <br />public is uninformed. <br />Board members and Ward highlighted the budget process, identified numerous <br />sources of District information, and invited her to contact staff for additional <br />information. <br />Richard Messina said that publishing District information on television would be a <br />cost effective method of informing the public. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 5-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of February 7, 2002 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - C, Total $353,753.15 <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carred 5-0, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar as presented. <br />
