February 7, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Approval Of Request By City Of Agoura Hills To Use Mobile Stage <br />Scott stated that the City of Agoura Hills is requesting use of the mobile stage <br />for its outdoor concert series, the concerts are scheduled for Sundays, June <br />16, July 7 and 21, and August 4 and 18, 2002, and none of the dates conflict <br />with the CRPD concert series. She referenced the past use of the stage by <br />the City of Agoura Hills, stated staff recommendation, and noted the <br />presence of City of Agoura Hills Recreation Supervisor Dale Sumersille. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Scott said that the rental fee would be $850 <br />per concert, and the stage size would be 30 by 24 feet, the full size of the <br />unit. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Berger, and carried 5-0 to <br />approve the use of the mobile stage by the City of Agoura Hills for <br />Sundays, June 16, July 7 and 21, August 4 and 18, 2002, and authorize <br />staff to issue a rental use permit to the City Community Services <br />Department; the stage to be used at Chumash Park for the City of <br />Agoura Hills Summer Concert Series. <br />B. Approval Of Ventura County Standardized Emergency Management <br />(SEMS) Agreement <br />Sorensen stated that the State of California has mandated the <br />implementation of the Standardized Emergency Management System <br />(SEMS) for the purpose of coordinating disaster response, there has been <br />widespread cooperation among local government entities, including the City <br />of Thousand Oaks, and the agreement is a formalization of that effort. <br />In response to Lange's request, Sorensen said that Board notification in the <br />event of an emergency can be integrated into the District response protocol, <br />and stated that Park Superintendent Marchesano is the Incident Commander <br />of the District's Emergency Operations Center. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to authorize <br />the Chair to execute the Ventura County Operational Area Organization <br />Agreement. <br />
