December 4, 2003 <br />Page 3 <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Lukes said that there was no reported <br />problems at Dos Vientos last year. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0 to <br />authorize a seasonal permit for the 2004 baseball season to Newbury <br />Park Pony Baseball for installation of a temporary fence subject to <br />conditions contained in submitted memorandum. <br />B. Approval Of Westlake Baseball Association Request To Install <br />Temporary Fencing At Triunfo Park Ball Field <br />Benton stated that this, too, is an annual request, there was no reported <br />problems last year, and the fence is subject to the conditions in the <br />submitted documentation. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Lukes said the size and location of the fence <br />is predicated on the age of the players and level of the league. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry, Lukes said that the fences do not remain <br />on park property during the off season. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0 to <br />authorize a seasonal permit for the 2004 baseball season to Westlake <br />Baseball Association for installation of a temporary fence subject to <br />the conditions contained in submitted memorandum. <br />C. Authorization To Award Contract To Duke Pacific, Inc. In Amount Of <br />$23,710, Plus 10% Contingency, For Repair Of Glulams At Willow Bend <br />Picnic Area Conejo Creek North <br />Sorensen provided background information, including the nature of the <br />repair project at Willowbend area picnic structure at Conejo Creek North. <br />He said that dry rot was discovered, weep holes will be created, and a <br />prophylactic retrofit will be performed on the other brackets. He reviewed <br />the bid process, identified the responding vendors and the low bidder, Duke <br />Pacific Inc. of Chino. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen said that Duke Pacific Inc., has no <br />prior experience with the District, but it specializes in this work, and a <br />January installation is anticipated. <br />
