November 20, 2003
Page 3
In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Marchesano said that, at the moment,
Cal Trans' posture is to not install a sound wall along the western boundary
of the soccer fields.
It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Bolt, and carried 5-0 to
authorize staff to submit a letter to the State of California accepting
the modifications to a purchase contract between the District and
State of California relative to a parcel of land between Conejo Creek
Park and Avenida de Las Flores.
B. Authorization Of Amount Not To Exceed $60,000 For Conejo Creek
South Drainage Modifications
Pluth stated that since Conejo Creek South acts as the drainage conduit to
virtually the entire Conejo Oaks neighborhood, the School District property
to the north, and portions of Janss Road, concerns have been expressed
about the proposed drainage system, including the close proximity of the
channel to the property line and the cut off of pedestrian access from EI
Cerrito Drive; consequently, staff is exploring a change order to the grading
plans which would place this portion of the channel in an underground pipe;
a basic cost study suggests that the change is not cost -prohibitive; staff has
established a not -to -exceed cost of $60,000; and Board consideration at
this time would allow staff to move forward rapidly when the pians are
completed.
Pluth answered questions.
It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to
authorize a not -to -exceed amount of $60,000 as a change order to
Pima Corporation's contract for the Conejo Creek South
improvements for the purpose of drainage modifications along the
northern portion of the east boundary of the site; funds available from
Fund 13 Interest account.
C. Consideration Of Proposed Board Of Directors 2004 Meeting
Schedule
Ward referenced the documentation and noted that the schedule reflects
modifications necessary to avoid conflicts with other meetings and
conferences. He noted the one meeting hiatus in August, and stated that
the schedule can be modified at anytime if necessary.
