October 16, 2003 <br />Page 2 <br />Bob Hersh, Thousand Oaks, asked when the lights would be installed. <br />Sorensen stated that the dog park is one of the most popular park venues in the <br />community, lighting requires a City of Thousand Oaks permit, both solar and <br />regular lighting is planned, installation of lighting is expected to begin in the spring, <br />and additional members on the dog park committee would be welcome. <br />Marchesano said that staff will follow up on the need for additional education, <br />enforcement, and signage. He invited participation in the dog park committee. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />6. Resolution 101603-A, A Resolution To Modify Section 103 Of District <br />Ordinance Manual <br />Marchesano provided background information, referenced applicable <br />portions of the California Penal Code, noted the differences between the <br />current and recommended versions, and said that although at times law <br />enforcement is an important part of the ranger's role, the term "certified <br />peace officer" should be reserved for sworn officers, and Section 103 of the <br />District's Ordinance Manual should be modified to eliminate the term. <br />
