ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC
Tim Anderson, Thousand Oaks, described an incident on May 3 at the
skateboard park involving deviant behavior directed toward his wife and eight-year
old son. He said there have been other such incidents, and requested improved
security or closure of the facility.
Wiley said that a skate park specialist has been hired, and staff is considering the
establishment of classes, a peer advisory council, signage, fencing, and separating
user groups by age. Additionally, he said that the District is considering official
action against known offenders.
Sorensen said that the current security camera is not adequate, and next week an
high security camera will be tested.
Lange thanked Anderson for his input, and apologized for the negative incident
involving his family.
