CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 5, 2003 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Hessman led the flag <br />salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Berger, Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen and Sorensen, <br />Recreation Manager Wiley, Recreation Supervisor Lukes, Office Clerk Hessman, <br />Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />COSTAC Trails Education Days Contest Winners <br />Winners <br />School <br />Jessica Ann Deutchman <br />Wildwood <br />Brian Gerthe <br />Lang Ranch <br />Shawn McLeod <br />Westlake <br />Allyson Grace Phillips <br />Lang Ranch <br />Joshua Alexander van Rijn <br />Madrona <br />Gina Smirthwaite highlighted the fourth annual COSTAC essay contest and the <br />13th Annual Trail Education Days. She said that 889 essays were submitted, and <br />1,0720 fifth graders visited Wildwood Park during the event. She introduced the <br />three winners present, Jessica Ann Deutchman, Shawn McLeod, and Joshua <br />Alexander van Rijn, and noted the presence of Mrs. Hawkins, a teacher. She <br />thanked the District for its support of COSTAL. <br />On behalf of the District, Lange and the Board members commended the winners. <br />
