CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 20, 2003 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Lange called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m., and Bryan McQueeney, <br />Executive Director of Ride On, led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Scott, and <br />Sorensen, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Ride On — Bryan McQueeney, Executive Director <br />McQueeney presented a video on Ride On, the therapeutic horsemanship <br />program in Newbury Park. He highlighted the current scope of the program, goals <br />for the future, volunteer opportunities, participants, and upcoming programs and <br />events, including a barn dance, the Barn Club, Sensational Beginnings, VIP Horse <br />Show, and Ventura Farms Benefit Event. He thanked the District for its support. <br />In response to Board inquiries, McQueeney compared the Chatsworth and <br />Newbury Park facilities, and said that the local facility has grown faster, and the <br />goal is to broaden the base of support and range of services offered. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
