November 18, 2004 <br />Page 5 <br />classes begin January 10; the Sycamore to the Sea hike is scheduled for <br />November 20 and after the scenic eight -mile hike to the ocean, lunch and a <br />shuttle bus ride back to the Borchard Community Center will be provided; the <br />Kids Swap Meet is scheduled for November 20; the Young Artists <br />Ensemble's final four performances of "The Jungle Book" will be held on <br />November 19, 20 and 21; for the first time 7th and 8th grade students from <br />Sycamore Canyon School will be included in Middle School Spirit Night held <br />this year at Thousand Oaks Community Center, due to the event's growing <br />popularity; the Silver Starlight Bali is scheduled for December 5 at the Clarion <br />Palm Garden Hotel and the Therapeutic Advisory Council held its 13th annual <br />Arts and Crafts Fair fundraiser on November 14. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda reported that the final ERAF II shift of District property tax to the <br />state will be approximately $740,000, down from $2.3 million in the budget; <br />the $740,000 is in addition to ERAF I, which is approximately $1.4 million. <br />Gibson commended staff efforts that resulted in the reassessment, and urged <br />that East Bay Recreation and Park District be recognized for its efforts. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward reported that he will attend the November 19 Legislative Committee <br />meeting in Sacramento. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange commended staff for the cleanup and maintenance of Conejo Creek <br />North. <br />Gibson suggested that the District communicate its best wishes to outgoing <br />Mayor Bob Wilson. <br />12.
