Adoption Of Resolution 090204-A And 090204-B, Authorizing <br />Application For Grant Funds Through Youth Soccer And Recreation <br />Development Program And State Urban Parks And Healthy <br />Communities Program <br />Friedl supplied background information. He stated that in addition to Per <br />Capita and Roberti-Z'berg-Harris grant programs, the State of California <br />offers two additional funding opportunities under the California Clean Water, <br />Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and the Coastal Protection Act of 2002; <br />the grant request through the former will be the maximum amount offered per <br />agency, $1,000,000, and would be used for development of soccer fields at <br />Conejo Creek South; staff will pursue funding through the latter to offset costs <br />associated with the play area renovation at Conejo Community Park. <br />Lange commended and thanked Bill Palermo for preparation of grant <br />applications. <br />In response to Holt's inquiries, Friedl said that to remain competitive, staff will <br />demonstrate more than the required 25% minimum match; the project cost is <br />estimated at $375,000; and, if awarded the grant, the budgeted funds will be <br />redirected to other projects. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0 to <br />adopt Resolution 090204-A authorizing the District to apply for grant <br />funds through the Youth Soccer and Recreation Development Program, <br />under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, <br />and Coastal Projection Act of 2002; that it be read in title only and all <br />further readings be waived. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-0 to adopt <br />Resolution 090204-13, authorizing the District to apply for grant funds <br />through the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Program <br />under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, <br />
