August 5, 2004 <br />Page 5 <br />The LAFCO Service Review is underway and staff has met with LAFCO staff <br />member, Joyce Croswaithe and the final report is due September 3. <br />Friedl informed the Board of the meeting August 2, with the Superintendent <br />and Assistant Superintendent of Conejo Valley Unified School District, Kathy <br />Perkinson of Miller Brothers, and Steve Boggs of Standard Pacific regarding <br />the school district's potential interest in providing Sycamore School <br />kindergarten classrooms on a portion of the Dos Vientos Ranch playfields. <br />It was noted by Friedl, and confirmed by Lange that there is the possibility of <br />a Department of Homeland Securities training exercise to take place between <br />Simi Valley and City of Moorpark on Friday, August 6. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange reported on various public hearings, in particular, one regarding the <br />MRCA 200412005 Work Program. <br />Gibson reported on the status of the Conejo Valley Little League and <br />encouraged attention to their progress and the acknowledgement of their <br />accomplishments. <br />12. REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORTS AND ITEMS FOR SUBSEQUENT <br />AGENDAS <br />Jacobsen requested that the District stay abreast of the resolution of issues <br />surrounding the Two Winds site. <br />In response to Jacobsen's request, Friedl identified the existing Oakbrook <br />Service Yard at the Lang Ranch Community Park site as the future home of <br />the District's Maintenance Yard, replacing the facility at Conejo School Road. <br />13. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Mike Houser, resident of Thousand Oaks, and employee of the City of Thousand <br />Oaks, TON, informed the Board that the City Government TV channel is going <br />to profile and videotape Conejo Valley Little League's participation in the <br />Western Regional Playoffs, as well as the Little League World Series. This <br />program will profile the team and will be featured program on TOTV, and the <br />footage utilized by ESPN. <br />
