Berger suggested that the Northwood Park project be considered. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobson, and carried 4-0 to <br />approve the Master Plan revisions. <br />There being no one who wished to address the Board, Berger <br />continued the Public Hearing to the next meeting. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization To Award Contract To M. D. Structural Contractors For <br />Purchase And Installation Of Banyan Neighborhood Park Play <br />Equipment <br />Pluth reviewed the bid process and results, and identified the low bidder as <br />M. D. Structural Contractors with a bid of $70,840. He said that there is an <br />active contingent of neighbors who have shown great interest in the park, <br />paving and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues will also be <br />addressed, tots' and older children's play equipment will be installed, and <br />the project will not be phased. <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to <br />authorize the General Manager to award a contract in care of M. D. <br />Structural Contractors, in the amount of $70,840 and a 10% <br />contingency amount of $7,084 for the purchase and installation of <br />Banyan Neighborhood Park play equipment; funds available from CIP <br />account #13-805-811-81901-002 97-5. <br />B. Authorization To Purchase A Replacement AS400 Computer <br />Lewanda stated that the combined cost of required upgrades to the existing <br />AS400 approaches the cost of purchasing a new AS400 -- approximately <br />$17,000; price negotiations are still in progress; it is expected that the new <br />system will provide the District sufficient processing capacity for the next <br />few years, it comes with a one-year maintenance agreement, and Sirius, <br />the District's IBM business partner, will be responsible for installation. <br />
