April 22, 2004 <br />Page 7 <br />April 24 at the Hiiicrest Center for the Arts, and the Young Artists Ensemble <br />with present "The Velvetten Rabbit" May 7 through 22; and at the <br />Therapeutic Unit, the "Spring Fling Dance" is scheduled for April 24 at Old <br />Meadows Center, and approximately 50 teens and young adults are <br />expected to attend. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Benton said that, as of now, no impact has <br />been observed as a result of activities and programs of the Boys and Girls <br />Club at Los Cerritos Intermediate School. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Lewanda reported that a vendor has been <br />contracted to provide virus and spam protection for the District's internet <br />and computer system. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward provided a legislative overview relevant to special districts. He stated <br />that a report has been prepared and will be presented to the Ventura <br />County Supervisors on April 27 relative to the proposed Ventura County <br />Open Space District; staff has been working with Mountains Recreation and <br />Conservation Authority (MBCA) regarding the recent audit and concern <br />expressed by the Department of Finance; April 9 staff hosted the Las <br />Virgenes Conejo Chamber Leadership Academy; Conejo Open Space <br />Conservation Agency (COSCA) will hold a public workshop regarding an <br />update of the open space priority list on May 12 at Goebel Senior Adult <br />Center; California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) <br />Conference is scheduled for May 7 through 10; the Conejo Valley Inter - <br />Service Club Luncheon and Awards Banquet is scheduled for Thursday <br />April 29; and the workshop with Dr. Mathis will begin Thursday, April 29. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange presented Holt a shirt trom the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park <br />District Oak Park Community Center dedication, and said that the Santa <br />Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) will hold its April 26 meeting there; <br />and Lewanda, Ward, Mrs. Ward, the Friedl family and he attended the <br />official dedication of the North Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space and <br />Preserve, formerly Ahmanson Ranch, which was well attended.
