CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 6, 2005 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m., and Pete Peterson led the <br />flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Assistant General Manager Friedl, <br />Administrators Benton and Lewanda, Parks Superintendent Marchesano, Senior <br />Grounds Supervisor Peterson, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Topanga Fire Incident <br />Noting that Conejo Recreation & Park District (CRPD) facilities served as the <br />command and mobilization center for the Topanga Fire Incident, Peterson narrated <br />a slide presentation of relevant activities, facilities, equipment and personnel from <br />many agencies and areas throughout California. <br />Barbara Kloster, Emergency Volunteer Rescue Team, discussed activities of the <br />volunteers and narrated slides of animal rescue efforts. <br />Board members thanked employees and volunteers for their extraordinary efforts. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Barbara Kloster highlighted the "Day of the Horse" on September 24 at Conejo <br />Creek Equestrian Park, and said over 500 people attended the successful event. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 5-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
