CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 2005 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., and Scott Buchanan led the <br />flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt and Jacobsen <br />Directors Absent: Lange <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Assistant General Manager Friedl, <br />Administrators Benton and Lewanda, Parks Superintendent Marchesano, Senior <br />Park Planner Pluth, Park Planner Welty, Administrative Secretary Reynders and <br />Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Ride On Annual Report — Therapeutic Riding at Walnut Grove Equestrian <br />Center— Gloria Hamblin <br />Hamblin referenced the annual report, thanked the District for its support, noted <br />the Ventura Farms Benefit on September 24, and introduced Tracy Castanza and <br />her 12 year old daughter Samatha, a participant of therapeutic horsemanship. <br />Castanza said that Samatha loves the program, is accepted and encouraged, and <br />is benefiting from her participation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Barbara Kloster, ETI Corral #37, invited participation in The Day of the Horse, <br />September 24 at Conejo Creek Equestrian Park. She said it would be an <br />informative, educational event, and would include exhibition of most breeds of <br />horses, many performances and booths. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Berger announced cancellation of the Executive (Closed) Session, and Gibson <br />suggested that Item 8.13 precede Item 8.A. <br />
