ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Cathy Carlson, representing Scandinavian American Foundation of Thousand <br />Oaks, Sons of Norway and Vasa Lodge, spoke in support of changing the name of <br />Springmeadow Park to Norwegian Park, which she said would reflect community <br />history. She suggested that, at minimum, the current park sign honoring local <br />Norwegian settlers be adjusted for greater visibility. Additionally, she said that <br />there is growing gender sensitivity in the community, and she distributed <br />correspondence. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0, to approve <br />the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Approval Of Minutes Of June 16, 2005 Meeting <br />B. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />A. Public Hearing — Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Budget <br />1. Adoption Of Proposed Budget, Resolution Number 070705-A <br />Berger declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Ward stated that the proposed budget is conservative, forward moving, <br />balanced, and in the best interests of constituents and the District. He <br />commended Lewanda and staff for their efforts. <br />Berger closed the Public Hearing. <br />
