CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 7, 2005 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Berger called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Sam Querrey led the <br />flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Holt, Jacobsen and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Assistant General Manager Friedl, <br />Administrators Benton and Lewanda, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Young Athlete Award <br />Sam Querrey, Thousand Oaks High School Tennis Team <br />Holt and Jacobson welcomed Sam Querrey, outstanding tennis player and senior <br />at Thousand Oaks High School. His numerous achievements were highlighted, <br />including Boys 16 Hard -Court National Singles and Doubles Titles, reaching the <br />quarter finals of the U.S. Open, and most recently, Boys 18 Singles Easter Bowl <br />Championship, April 16 in Palm Springs. <br />Coach Assorson, who nominated Querrey for the Young Athlete Award, spoke of <br />Querrey's many achievements, which include achieving a World Junior ranking of <br />10, and expressed confidence in his future success. <br />On behalf of the Board, Holt and Jacobsen presented the award to Queerey. <br />Board members congratulated him. <br />Queerey thanked everyone for their support. <br />Berger recessed the meeting at 8:11 p.m. and reconvened at 8:18 p.m. <br />
